In my attempt to celebrate that creativity, I have started this blog, not ever having done this, shamefully. Sewing, collecting fabric, buttons, accessories, books about Edith Head and fashion from the 50's has always been part of my life. A few years ago, in preparation for a little "trunk show" we were preparing to host at Visual Asylum, I became a one woman factory. I made coats, hats, scarfs for both children and women, dresses, skirts for girls along with matching "American Girl" outfits --- having an 8yr. old daughter, can't not make the matching outfit!
These are my girls, Karen and Kassandra on the day of our adoption finalization party. We were so blessed to have over 80 people attend, friends, family from all over join us in the backyard of "Auntie Amy's" house. I have coveted the clothes from Oilily, and splurged on adorable matching outfits for the girls, a small fortune, but, once in a lifetime, had to do it!

Easter dresses, I didn't make, but loved, especially Karen's POLKA DOTS (my favorite).

Hilarious, both scared to death of Santa, this from Christmas '04 - Kassandra wore Karen's dress this year '10!

First Thanksgiving, at G'ma & G'pa's home in Littleton, I made these dresses!

I love layering translucent fabric, the black sheer is on top of the pale green floral. These were all "discount" fabric finds from my collection.
